An absolutely wonderful read. The ebb and flow of a master wordsmith, with a perfect balance of tone provided by moments of introspective acumen and heartwarming silliness. Love, love, love that you are back at it!
I’m happy that you won a fight in the ongoing battle with the omnipotent opponent that is procrastination. I often (daily) engage in a kind of war with this formidable foe. I really enjoyed this piece and found it all too relatable. I really identified with this part in particular: “The thing is I’ve always thought of myself as a writer, even when the words are left largely floating around my limbic system. More accurately, I’ve always thought I should be a writer, but the problem with procrastination is that it tends to undermine belief.” Yes! I frequently put off writing, except for the imaginary variety that happens in my head, for all the reasons that you mentioned… and more. Thanks for capturing and conveying this struggle in words.
Glad to see you're back! I'll get around to reading it eventually.
Har har! Always thought you’re too clever for your own good. :))

My staunchest supporter! 😙 Thanks so much - your words give me fuel and fill me with (hopefully not misplaced) pride.
